On April 6, 1990, The Coffee Cottage opened its ‘garage’ portion of the 1929 Cape Cod home as the first coffee house in Newberg. In 1993, The Coffee Cottage expanded the ‘garage’ to the entire downstairs, allowing for an in-house bakery, bookstore and much-needed seating, inside and out.
In 2004, The Coffee Cottage purchased a house next to the cafe, converting it into a drive-thru, roasting facility, full bakery & large meeting room which seats 15 people.
Spring 2008, The Coffee Cottage hired a local chef to expand the lunch menu, adding daily specials and dinner options including vegetarian and vegan. On Mother’s Day weekend, The Coffee Cottage added brunch, now served every weekend.
Summer 2008, we opened the Cottage Roastery to the public every Saturday, 8am - 1pm. Customers can now observe the art of roasting, as well as purchase fresh coffee beans, hot out of the roaster. Coffee cuppings will take place at 11am and 1pm.
